Personal Care Consultants provides a wide a range of health and social care training courses for staff working in social care from Induction training for care assistants through to comprehensive Reablement Skills Training courses.  Our trainers are all practicing consultants within their fields and our courses are all applicable to the job roles undertaken by trainees and the context in which they are currently working.  Our health and social care training courses will equip your staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide high quality care to service users.

Our social care training courses include:

Reablement Skills Training - Our Reablement Skills training is a modular training programme from which commissioners can choose any number of modules to create a bespoke reablement skills training course of 1-3 days in length giving their staff the necessary skills and knowledge for a move from "care" to "reablement".  We have been delivering reablement skills training since 2000 and have delivered courses to over 30 local authorities.

Dementia Awareness Training - A one day dementia awareness training course for care staff introducing signs and symptoms of the different types of Dementia, treatments, myths and fact and how these affect care and the importance of 'personhood' or a person centred approach.  In addition to the Dementia Awareness training we also offer a range of further, more in depth training courses on Dementia and associated topics.

Personal Care Training - Our Personal Care Training provides a practical solution to equipping new and existing care staff with a model of good practice in providing high quality personal care to service users.  Our one day Personal Care training course covers all aspects of delivering personal care, from the principles of care; including promoting a service user's dignity and choice, to practical demonstrations and practice bed baths, foot and nail care, mouth care etc.

Outcome Focussed Care Planning - Our one day course in Outcome Focussed Care Planning is designed for care providers, managers, supervisors and senior care staff involved in the care planning process.  We can incorporate local care planning forms into our courses in order to offer a comprehensive training package which is both relevant and easily applicable to local scenarios and job roles.

Acquired Brain Injury - Our one day course enables practitioners to develop knowledge and understanding of Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury whilst our two day course develops on the knowledge of experienced practitioners to deepend their understanding.

Loss and Depression in Elders - Our one day course has, as its focus, issues of loss for older people relating not just to bereavement but also exploring social, psychological and sensory aspects.  This training also looks in detail at depression in older people and explores treatments available and also assessment tools for use in determining whether an elderly person is suffering from depression.

Carer's Induction Training Programme - A modular training course for Informal Carers covering the topics of:
